Step outside to the community boat dock where you can launch your kayak (provided for you!) or take in the beautiful scenery. Fishing enthusiasts will love the nearby opportunities to reel in the catch of the day, while boating lovers will appreciate the easy access to the water. After a day of outdoor fun, unwind on the spacious deck and enjoy the sounds of nature.

This super comfortable cabin will more than adequately meet all the needs for 11 guests.

Situated with three private bedrooms you can enjoy a good night’s sleep.

1. The cabin has one bedroom on the main floor with a king bed and there is a large common bathroom.

2. The upstairs bedrooms each have a queen bed with an upstairs common bathroom.

3. There is a pullout trundle bed in the loft area with a full size and twin trundle.

4. There is also pull out couch downstairs which turns into a queen bed.

The kitchen is well equipped with all the amenities of home. Nestled in the pines this little gem in the woods has a front and rear deck with seating so that you can gaze at the stars and tell stories of your days adventures.

WIFI is provided for your use. Television is provided on a Roku with Netflix provided.

Unlike many rental homes in our area we provide a garbage service for your convenience. No last minute trips to the dump to inconvenience our guests.
Arrive at any time, for your convenience; we will provide a door code for our guests with a map about 2 weeks before your arrival. Avoid the tedious check-in process.

The Oar House is open year around and is conveniently located in a central location. Your vacation home base is within minutes of some of the area’s best activities. Just down the road is a public boat launch for the Island Park Reservoir. Abundant fishing opportunities are available in every direction – enjoy fly fishing on Henry’s Fork of the Snake or the Madison Rivers or drop your line in the numerous lakes and reservoirs. Take the time to enjoy the beauty of Mesa Falls, feed the fish at Big Springs and tour Johnny Sacks Cabin, all within minutes of leaving the cabin. Activities are numerous and fun filled – float trips, hiking, horseback riding and golf are just a few of the many features that can be enjoyed within just a few miles of the cabin. Snowmobile and atv riders, you can leave right from Island Retreat, you will be delighted with miles of exploring on an elaborate trail system. This area is a snowmobiles paradise, with something for every riding level. Nordic Skiing opportunities are right out the door or groomed trails systems are within minutes at Harriman State Park and West Yellowstone.
During the winter, the driveway is plowed. There is ample space for a snowmobile trailer and vehicles. Should your party need more space there is a public parking area approximately ½ mile from the cabin.

Other things to note

This house can accommodate large trailers. However, be aware that during winter months this area can get a very large amount of snow (1 foot in 24 hours which is exacerbated by drifts due to strong winds) in a short period of time and even though we do our absolute best to plow the roads the crews can be overwhelmed during such times. If you plan to bring trailers then bring them at your own risk. We do not guarantee we can accommodate such a large trailer during winter storms.

You will be asked to agree an outside contract that clarifies the details and ensures proper expectations on both sides.
